This tool is fine for small shrubs and touch ups on larger shrubs. I really like the fact that it’s cordless. But for large shrubs to do initial trimming, I will still use my larger corded hedge clippers. I would buy this tool again. They cut good. The battery lasts a long time.... 5 Oct 21

I bought this tool to trim my perennial flowers and shrubs. So far I am very impressed with how easy it cuts the stems and also how light it is. As a side note, this tool is not meant for thick branches, so if you are looking for that type of tool, this is not it. I am so happy that I no longer have to snip each stem by hand. It does have trouble cutting thru thicker azalea limbs that are bigger than 1/4 inch. if you hit the limb quickly it will sometimes work though to cut the thicker ones. Worked great. I have boxwoods that were hard to trim with a 18 or 24 inch trimmer. I keep them trimed in a ball shape and the larger trimmers are hard to perform the trim. The Ryobi shrub trimmer is just the right size and makes the job easier and the ability to trim the shrubs into a ball shape without taking too much which makes the bush look like it has a dent in it.
